Meditate in Movement

Are you interested in meditation and the benefit it brings but you find it hard to do sitting meditation and find you mind racing? This may be for you.

Meditation can be practiced in many ways. Commonly we think of sitting meditation, however within the Buddhist practices, mindfulness, which is awareness of the present moment in everyday tasks, and movement meditation are equally part of the practice of becoming more present and observant of our experience. Meditation in motion can be a joyful, a simple stepping into the being of your body, a calm space of exploring agency and embodiment through movement.

This is a session designed as an introduction of how to develop movement meditation practices for your everyday life. The sessions are designed as kind, gentle and joyful experiments of bringing our attentions to our experience through walking, gentle movement, and attention. It is designed as a counterweight to the pace of a life.

The session are led by Karoliina Sandström (PhD) who is a completive artist, her background is in theatrical training, where she has developed a practice of meditative training and performance for over 15 years. Karoliina has extensive experience of meditation in movement through practices of Mexican Mestizo theatre, which combines principles of actor western actor training, with Buddhist practices and Mexican indigenous traditions.

The event will be run in English.
